Personal

Whether you need help losing those last few pounds or are in need of a full pantry makeover, I offer a wide range of personal diet-related services that help set you on the right path towards your goals.

Spectracell

Find your body’s balance

If you thought that vitamin deficiencies were a thing of the past, think again. Did you know that between 9 and 20% of American women suffer from iron-deficiency anemia? Among black Americans, almost 30% suffer from vitamin D deficiency. Like with food intolerances, people often miss the symptoms of nutrient imbalances for years, chalking them up to just a vague bad feeling. I’m a certified provider of Spectracell, a test which can determine if you have any vitamin deficiencies or other nutrient imbalances.

Spectracell is for you if you…

  • Often feel fatigued or lightheaded.
  • Are frequently ill.
  • Have vision disturbances.

Alcat Test

Stop eating the wrong foods

9 million American adults (about 4% of the population) are estimated to have food intolerances or allergies. But people often live with food allergies and intolerances for years without realizing. The symptoms can be sneaky: Feeling constantly tired. Frequent stomach discomfort. Breakouts and rashes. Luckily, there’s a test that can tell if you’ve got a food intolerance or allergy: the antigen leukocyte antibody test (Alcat Test). I’m a certified provider of the Alcat Test.

The Alcat Test is for you if you…

  • Feel constantly run-down or fatigued.
  • Have frequent stomach discomfort.
  • Sometimes have unexplained breakouts, rashes, or itchy skin.
  • Suspect you might have a food intolerance or allergy.
  • Grocery Trip

    Navigate the miles of aisles

Sometimes grocery stores can be overwhelming. There are dozens of brands of rice. Hundreds of different cuts of meat. I’ll come with you to the store and make brand recommendations. I’ll talk to you about how to find the information you need on nutrition labels and what ingredients to avoid. We’ll find budget-friendly healthy foods that meet your dietary needs.

The grocery trip is for you if you…

  • Get analysis paralysis in the freezer aisle.
  • Wonder which brands and ingredients are truly healthy (e.g. how different are 1% and 2% milk, really?).
  • Want a wider variety of healthy meals and snacks within a budget.
  • Can’t figure out what to buy on a physician-prescribed diet.
  • Remote Consult

Getting fit can fit into your schedule

Don’t get up—I’ll call you via phone or video. Sometimes it can be hard to find time for getting healthy. But I can fit your schedule, with the same one-on-one, VIP tailored service, delivered to the comfort of your den or boardroom. Got some pals who might want to join you? I also offer video conference seminars.

Remote Consults are for you if you…

    • Don’t have a lot of free time during business hours.
    • Want to improve your health, but you can’t find time in your schedule.
    • Travel a lot.
    • Don’t live in Nashville.
    • Have an unpredictable schedule.
    • Have mobility limitations.

    Family/Couple Consult

Whole food for the whole family

If you’re getting healthy, you don’t have to do it alone. Habits change faster when the whole family embarks on a new lifestyle together. I’ll help you make a plan that works for everyone: How to fill your freezer with quick, easy school-night meals and break the “fast food after dance lessons” habit. How to fit in healthy portions of everyone’s favorite foods. How to plan meals when dad needs a heart-healthy low-sodium diet and mom has a gluten intolerance.

Family / couple consult is for you if you...

    • Are a busy family, with packed schedules and not a lot of time to cook.
    • Must cater to a wide mix of dietary needs.
    • Could use some help with weight loss or want to make a lifestyle change at the same time. You know that if you’re in it together, you’ll all be more successful.

    Pantry Overhaul

A day of “eat this, don’t eat that”

I’ll come to your house and help go through your pantry & fridge. We’ll get rid of the things that make your waistline expand, talk about easy changes and substitutions you can make for better health, and reorganize everything to help you snack healthier. Along the way, I’ll give you tips and strategies for better eating—and a grocery list for refilling your pantry.

Pantry overhaul is for you if you…

    • Want to eat better but the chips in the back of your cupboard always seem to sabotage your efforts.
    • Would enjoy cooking more at home, but you don’t know what healthy staples you need in your cabinets.
    • Feel overwhelmed by healthy recipes that seem full of complicated ingredients, and you’re confused about what to buy.

    Coaching

    A little extra motivation

A tailored diet plan to help you meet particular goals, and a wellness coach to keep you in check. You’ll tell me what you’ve done so far, and we’ll figure out what to do next. I’ll give you specific suggestions based on where you’re struggling—meal plans, shopping lists, or recipes. I’ll help keep you accountable: I’ll check in to make sure you’re on track.

Coaching is for you if you…

    • Have a plan and think you’re on the right track.
    • Like reading about nutrition.
    • Have worked with a personal trainer or athletic coach before, but something keeps tripping you up.
    • Can’t seem to lose the last ten pounds.
    • Are stuck in a yo-yo dieting cycle.
    • Have a specific goal (e.g. “look good in a bathing suit”) and want advice about how to get there.

    One-to-One

    The full VIP experience

A complete, individualized diet and exercise plan, tailored to your life, your goals, and your needs. After we talk, I’ll lay out meal plans, your shopping list, and provide recipes. We’ll strategize for your tricky situations (holiday parties, traveling for work, or visiting the inlaws). Where? In your office or home. When? As often and as many times as you’d like.

One-to-one is for you if you…

  • Want to make a lifestyle change
  • Have particular goals in mind—losing weight, gaining weight, or toning up.
  • Find yourself with a few bad habits you’d like to kick
  • Are overwhelmed by all the conflicting diet advice out there (“Do I need to go low-carb, low-fat, low-sugar, low-salt?”).
  • Made some changes, but you’re not seeing the results you want. You need a guide at your side.
